Stunning vintage Japanese 4-panel folding screen (byobu) "Gathering Shellfish" after ukiyo-e woodblock print by Hokusai. Signed. Gouache, watercolor and ink on paper. Silk border. Lacquered black wood frame with engraved copper corners and medallions showing dark age patina. Paper on back. Excellent condition - minor age wear overall, touch-ups on the frame, small repairs on hinges, clean, sturdy. Japan, Shōwa era, circa 1960s.
